About The Detainee

A human rights activist and one of the founders of the Union for Human Rights. He made efforts to demand the release of prisoners of conscience and has participated in many seminars related to the demand for human rights and has signed several statements in this regard. He was previously arrested for participating in a sit-in against the war in Gaza in 2009

The Specialised Criminal Court charged him with establishing an unlicensed association and stirring up public opinion with the purpose of causing chaos, interfering in public affairs and traveling to Qatar. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison and a 14-year travel ban, then the sentence was increased after appeal, bringing the number of years in prison to 17 years
