About The Detainee

He is a human rights defender and a founder of the association for civil and political rights ( Hasam ). He has participated in a number of peaceful demonstrations demanding human rights to be recognised in Saudi. He has previously been arrested several times; 2007, 2008 and 2011. In 2011 he was sentenced to 8 years in prison where half of it was suspended. The specialised criminal court also banned him from travelling for four years after he completed his prison sentence.
