Method
On August 7, 2018, Omar's brothers, Ahmed and Abdulmajid, were arrested after State Security officers raided their family home in the Al-Rawdah district of Jeddah and took them to Dhahban Prison. They were subjected to interrogation and pressure to persuade Omar to cease his activism before being released later. However, Omar Al-Zahrani did not halt his activism. A few days later, his brothers were summoned back to Dhahban Prison for further interrogation and were once again pressured to convince Omar to stop his activism immediately. They were released again but were summoned to Dhahban Prison once more on August 21, 2018. Their father, Abdulaziz, accompanied them to the prison and waited outside. After four hours, prison officials informed Abdulaziz to return home, stating that his sons would not be leaving with him.
