SANAD organisation calls for the immediate release of Muhammad Kadwan Al-Almai

Saudi authorities have continued to detain Professor Muhammad Kadwan Al-Almai for over three years due to his attendance at a seminar held at the home of Dr. Awad Al-Qarni.

Kadwan was arrested in July 2021 as part of a crackdown that targeted several researchers and academics in Abha. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison and remains under arbitrary detention to this day.

SANAD Human Rights Organisation urges the Saudi authorities to drop Kadwan’s sentence and release him immediately and unconditionally, and to provide him with the necessary compensation.
