On the Fourth Anniversary of Her Arrest… Freedom for Aisha Al-Muhajeri
These days mark the fourth anniversary of the arrest of Saudi preacher Aisha Al-Muhajeri, who has been detained since February 2021 in a blatant violation of human rights, with no legal justification for her unjust imprisonment.
Al-Muhajeri, nearing seventy years of age, remains behind bars simply for teaching the Quran. She used to hold religious lessons in her home in Mecca, which authorities deemed a direct cause for her arrest.
Her detention was brutal, as a security force of nearly twenty officers raided her home, showing no regard for her old age or health condition.
Her suffering did not end there. Inside prison, she has endured severe violations, including deliberate medical neglect, denial of communication with her family, and threats against her children by State Security officers. Additionally, she has been denied the right to legal representation.
Sanad Human Rights Organization holds the Saudi authorities fully responsible for Aisha Al-Muhajeri’s well-being and calls for her immediate release, along with compensation for all the violations she has suffered.
Her continued detention is a clear violation of fundamental rights and a reflection of the systematic repression faced by Saudi citizens.
