SANAD Condemns the Execution of Ali Al-Suleiman and Calls for a Halt to Political Death Sentences
On January 28, 2025, Saudi authorities executed Ali bin Abduljalil bin Mansour Al-Suleiman, marking the second politically motivated execution this year. This act, carried out in the context of allegations lacking credible evidence, is part of a pattern in which Saudi authorities fabricate charges and distort facts against peaceful activists and dissidents, raising serious doubts about the fairness of trials.
SANAD Human Rights Organization affirms that the kingdom’s judicial system is fundamentally flawed. Political detainees are often denied basic legal rights, coerced into confessions, or subjected to sham trials designed to silence dissent. While official sources deny any erosion of justice, the reality proves otherwise—defendants are frequently denied sufficient guarantees for fair and transparent trials.
SANAD strongly condemns the continued use of politically motivated death sentences in Saudi Arabia. These practices represent a clear violation of the right to life and international standards. The organization calls on Saudi authorities to immediately suspend all death sentences against prisoners of conscience and ensure fair trials based on international law and respect for human rights.
