Sanad Human Rights Organization calls for the release of Fadi Al-Nasser, detained for 5 years over his tweets
This period marks the fifth anniversary of the detention of young Fadi Ibrahim Al-Nasser, who was arrested in November 2019 for tweets in which he demanded employment opportunities. To date, there has been no information about the circumstances of his detention or details of his trial.
Despite being held for five years, he has not been released and has suffered numerous violations during his detention, including being denied the chance to attend his father’s funeral. This denial is a clear violation of Saudi laws, which allow for temporary release of detainees in the event of the death of a first-degree relative.
Sanad Human Rights Organization condemns the continued detention of Fadi Ibrahim Al-Nasser and calls for his immediate and unconditional release. The organization also urges Saudi authorities to end ongoing violations against citizens and residents and to adhere to local laws and international human rights standards.
