Ongoing Suffering: Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Habdan, a Victim of Saudi Authorities' Injustice
The Saudi authorities continue to inflict injustice upon the academic and researcher Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Habdan, having arrested him without any legal justification for more than 2300 days.
In September 2017, a Saudi security force stormed Al-Habdan’s home without a judicial order, arresting him in a barbaric manner. The violations did not stop there; Al-Habdan was tried in secret, deprived of his basic rights to a fair trial as he was not allowed to appoint a lawyer.
Al-Habdan was placed in solitary confinement, denied communication with his family, exacerbating his suffering and constituting a severe violation of human rights.
The continued detention of Dr. Mohammed Al-Habdan is a stain on the reputation of the Saudi authorities, demonstrating their disregard for international humanitarian laws. SANAD organisation calls on the international community and human rights organizations to urgently intervene to end Dr. Al-Habdan’s suffering and ensure his immediate and unconditional release.
