SANAD organisation Calls for the Release of Dr. Ibrahim Al-Harithi
The Saudi authorities have continued to detain Dr. Ibrahim Al-Harithi in Dhahban Prison in Jeddah since September 2017, without any legal reasons.
Al-Harithi was arrested brutally as part of the well-known September 2017 campaign and subjected to a secret trial that lacked the most basic principles of justice, ending in a sentence by the Specialized Criminal Court to four years in prison, which was later increased to eight years.
SANAD organisation, affirms that freedom of expression is a fundamental human right that no government can justify suppressing. SANAD organisation views the ongoing detention of Al-Harithi without any legal basis as further evidence of the Saudi Arabian government’s targeting of thinkers and peaceful activists. SANAD organisation calls on the Saudi authorities to immediately release Al-Harithi, drop all charges against him, and compensate him for the damages he has suffered.
