SANAD Organisation for Human Rights calls for revealing of Ahmed Al-Mazeeni.
Since his arrest in September 2017, the young man, Ahmed Al-Mazeeni, has been subjected to enforced disappearance, with a complete blackout of all information about him by the Saudi authorities.
It is worth noting that Al-Mazeeni’s arrest was only revealed in December 2019, i.e., more than two years after his arrest. The sources that disclosed his arrest reported that he underwent a secret trial by the specialized criminal court without any judgment being issued against him during the first two years of his detention.
In the same context, many opinion detainees in Saudi prisons have been subjected to enforced disappearances for several long years. SANAD Organisation for Human Rights calls on the Saudi authorities to reveal the whereabouts of all detainees who have been forcibly disappeared and to immediately release them. Additionally, human rights organizations and the international community are urged to fulfill their duty in the face of the ongoing and escalating violations by the Saudi government.
