Seven Years After His Arrest… Dr. Anas Al-Mazrou Remains Behind Bars
These days mark the seventh anniversary of the arrest of Dr. Anas Al-Mazrou, an academic and human rights activist, detained in March 2019 after delivering a speech at a book fair addressing human rights in Saudi Arabia and defending prisoners of conscience.
Despite seven years in detention, he remains arbitrarily held without a fair trial. During this time, he has faced ill-treatment, deliberate medical neglect, and restricted contact with his family, while authorities continue to delay resolving his case or releasing him.
SANAD Human Rights Organization calls for his immediate and unconditional release, appropriate compensation, and the release of all prisoners of conscience.
