Yasmin Al-Ghafili: 850 days in prison because of a tweet

After expressing her opinion on Twitter, Saudi authorities arrested Yasmin Al-Ghafili on May 17, 2021. She has now spent 850 days behind bars.

Since her arrest, Yasmin Al-Ghafili has faced enforced disappearance. She has only appeared once since then in a report broadcasted by the official news channel. The purpose of this report was to enhance the image of Saudi prisons. To date, she has neither been tried nor released.

SANAD Organisation for Human Rights, calls on the Saudi authorities to immediately release Yasmin Al-Ghafili, as well as all other opinion detainees unconditionally.
