Four Years Since the Arrest of Lawyer Dr. Abdullah Al-Fayez Over Old Tweets

These days mark the fourth anniversary of the arrest of lawyer Dr. Abdullah Al-Fayez in March 2022 over old tweets expressing his personal views on social media.

According to human rights sources, Dr. Al-Fayez was tried before the Specialized Criminal Court, but the details and outcome of the trial remain unknown due to the lack of transparency surrounding the proceedings.

Dr. Al-Fayez is a respected legal professional in Saudi Arabia who previously served as a judge and Sharia advisor, and holds a PhD from the Higher Institute of Judiciary in the Kingdom.
