A Decade Behind Bars… Mousa Al-Hashim Remains Imprisoned
These days mark the tenth anniversary of the arrest of activist Mousa Al-Hashim in December 2015, detained for documenting—along with his wife, Israa Al-Ghamgam—a peaceful protest. Mousa is serving a 17-year sentence, while his wife is serving 13 years.
Since his arrest, Al-Hashim has faced serious violations, including being denied the right to appoint a lawyer, medical neglect, and severe restrictions on communication with his family.
SANAD Human Rights Organization renews its call on Saudi authorities to immediately release Mousa Al-Hashim and Israa Al-Ghamgam, and to end all forms of abuse against peaceful activists. SANAD emphasizes the necessity of ensuring fair and transparent judicial procedures that respect human rights and urges Saudi authorities to uphold their international human rights obligations and guarantee fundamental freedoms for all citizens.
