Omar Al-Saeed's trial is a sham, reflecting the lack of integrity in the Saudi judiciary

The Saudi regime continues to detain human rights activist Omar Al-Saeed since the raid on his house and his arrest on June 23, 2018, due to his role in founding the Hasem Association. He is currently imprisoned in Buraidah prison in Al-Qassim.

Human rights activist Omar Al-Saeed is serving a 7-year prison sentence, despite not having a fair trial. He was deprived of his fundamental right to appoint a lawyer, a non-negotiable right that represents one of the most important principles of justice and fairness. Denying Al-Saeed the right to a lawyer is a violation of human rights and confirms the lack of integrity in the judicial procedures in Saudi Arabia.

SANAD Organisation for Human Rights demands the immediate and unconditional release of Al-Saeed, compensation for the damages he suffered, and the release of all detainees of the Hasem Association.
