On the Sixth Anniversary of His Arrest… SANAD Calls for Disclosure of the Whereabouts of Zaid Al-Roqei
These days mark the sixth anniversary of the arrest of Zaid Al-Roqei, detained since November 2019 after posting a video in which he spoke about the widespread unemployment among youth and the absence of real solutions from the relevant authorities.
Since his arrest, Zaid Al-Roqei has been subjected to enforced disappearance, and SANAD Human Rights Organization has received no information regarding the conditions of his detention or any legal proceedings — a common occurrence in Saudi Arabia amid the lack of transparency that has prevailed since Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman assumed power.
SANAD strongly condemns the arbitrary arrest and enforced disappearance of Zaid Al-Roqei, and calls for the immediate and unconditional disclosure of his fate and release.
