Dr. Ali bin Hamza Al-Omari enters his ninth year in prison

Dr. Ali bin Hamza Al-Omari has entered his ninth year behind bars since his arrest on September 9, 2017, while the Saudi Public Prosecution continues to demand the death penalty against him for his peaceful opinions and positions.

Dr. Al-Omari has suffered severe violations in prison, including torture and ill-treatment, leading to a serious deterioration in his health, as well as deliberate medical neglect and denial of necessary care, which have further worsened his condition.

The SANAD Human Rights Organization expresses deep concern over the ongoing torture, medical neglect, and violations of Dr. Al-Omari’s fundamental rights. SANAD calls for his immediate and unconditional release, urgent access to medical treatment and care, and the dropping of all politically motivated charges against him.
