The Tragedy of Dalal Al-Khalil: When Justice is Absent.

Saudi authorities arrested Dalal Al-Khalil along with her husband after storming their house, terrifying their children, and tampering with the contents of the home, in September 2017, without any legal charges and without consideration for their children.

In prison, Dalal Al-Khalil faced a series of violations, including the prevention of her family from visiting her, intentionally starving her, and subjecting her to prolonged interrogations without allowing her to sleep or receive treatment.

After four years of detention, the specialized criminal court in Riyadh issued a verdict in September 2021 sentencing Dalal Al-Khalil to 18 years in prison, without directing any legal charges against her. As for her husband, Ibrahim Aba Al-Khail, his fate remains unknown since his arrest.
