Nine Years Since the Arrest of Dr. Ibrahim bin Nasser Al-Nasser: SANAD Calls for His Immediate Release
Nine years have passed since the arrest of Dr. Ibrahim bin Nasser Al-Nasser on 11 September 2017 without legal justification. He remains behind bars to this day.
The Specialized Criminal Court initially sentenced him to three months in prison before the Supreme Court increased his sentence to three years. The Court of Appeal subsequently extended his sentence to 15 years, despite the completion of his previous sentences.
During his detention, Dr. Al-Nasser has faced several human rights violations, including denial of access to a lawyer, enforced disappearance for more than 18 months, denial of contact with his family, and prolonged solitary confinement.
SANAD Human Rights Organization calls for the immediate and unconditional release of Dr. Ibrahim bin Nasser Al-Nasser, an end to the arbitrary measures against him, guarantees for his fundamental rights, and appropriate compensation for the violations he has endured.
