Ali Hamid Al-Juhani: Nine Years of Detention With No News of His Whereabouts

These days mark the ninth anniversary of the arrest of Dr. Ali Hamid Al-Juhani in September 2017, as part of the September crackdown that targeted a number of academics, influential figures, and other voices in Saudi Arabia.

Since Dr. Al-Juhani’s arrest, SANAD Human Rights Organization has received no information about the circumstances of his detention or his whereabouts, raising serious concerns about his physical and psychological well-being.

SANAD Human Rights Organization condemns Dr. Al-Juhani’s continued arbitrary detention and calls on Saudi authorities to release him immediately and unconditionally, guarantee his right to liberty and security, and end the policy of arbitrary detention targeting activists, academics, and other voices in Saudi Arabia.
