Growing Concern for the Safety of Dr. Ali Hameed Al-Juhani After More Than Eight Years of Arbitrary Detention

Saudi authorities have continued to detain Dr. Ali Hameed Al-Juhani since September 2017, as part of the September crackdown, during which numerous academics, public figures, and opinion leaders were arrested across Saudi Arabia.

SANAD Human Rights Organization has received no information regarding Dr. Al-Juhani’s detention conditions or whereabouts since the time of his arrest, raising serious concern for his physical and psychological well-being.

SANAD condemns the continued arbitrary detention of Dr. Al-Juhani and calls on the Saudi authorities to immediately and unconditionally release him, ensure his right to freedom and safety, and end the policy of arbitrary arrests targeting activists, academics, and opinion leaders in the country.
