Dr. Mohammed Al-Barrak — Academic Behind Bars Since 2017 Without Charges or Trial

Saudi authorities have arbitrarily detained academic Dr. Mohammed Suleiman Al-Barrak since September 2017 as part of their ongoing crackdown.

During his detention, Dr. Al-Barrak has faced severe violations, including prolonged solitary confinement, being denied contact with his family for over four months, deprivation of his right to legal counsel or a fair trial, and deliberate medical neglect in prison.

Sanad Human Rights Organization strongly condemns his continued detention and the abuses he faces, holding Saudi authorities fully responsible for his physical and psychological well-being. Sanad calls for his immediate and unconditional release and for ensuring his right to compensation and redress in accordance with international laws and conventions.
