Sanad organization calls for the immediate release of the human rights activist Aya Al-Jahni
The Saudi authorities have continued to detain the human rights activist Aya Al-Jahni since April 2016 for peacefully expressing her opinions.
The Saudi security forces raided Al-Jahni’s home in a violent and terrifying manner, arresting her in her sleepwear without any consideration for her rights. In prison, she was subjected to solitary confinement for an entire year and endured numerous verbal insults and abuses throughout her detention. Despite the expiration of her sentence and the issuance of a release order, her fate has remained unknown since her retrial in August 2019.
The human rights organization Sanad expresses its deep concern over the ongoing enforced disappearance of the human rights activist Aya Al-Jahni and calls for the disclosure of her fate and her immediate release without any conditions or restrictions.
