Al-Nakhifi: We sacrifice our freedom, for the people to live free
The Saudi regime continues its detention of Lawyer and Human rights activist Issa Al-Nakhifi who was arrested arbitrarily in December of 2016 as a consequence of his calls for human rights and expressing his opinion.
Al-Nakhifi was arrested for documenting the violations visited upon twelve thousand residents of Jazan during their forced relocation from their homes and the ensuing corruption and misappropriation of property. He went on to accuse the authorities at the time of corruption and human rights violations.
He has reportedly been subjected to torture during his incarceration, and solitary confinement for prolonged periods while being denied the opportunity to seek legal counsel, furthermore he has completed a six year sentence and is yet to be released.
