Since September 2017… Musa Al-Ghanami Enters His Tenth Year Behind Bars

These days mark the ninth anniversary of the arrest of Islamic preacher Musa Al-Ghanami, who has remained detained by Saudi authorities since September 2017 over alleged charges brought against him, including communicating with foreign entities and undermining state security—charges that Saudi Arabia has routinely used against prisoners of conscience.

During his years in detention, Al-Ghanami has been subjected to violations including being denied regular contact with his family, the absence of fair-trial guarantees, medical neglect, and deteriorating detention conditions.

The human rights organization Sanad calls on the Saudi authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Musa Al-Ghanami, compensate him for the years of arbitrary detention and the violations he has endured, release all prisoners of conscience, and put an end to violations targeting public rights and freedoms in the country.
