Ninth Anniversary of Dr. Ibrahim Al-Yamani’s Arrest: SANAD Calls for His Release

These days mark the ninth anniversary of the arrest of Dr. Ibrahim Al-Yamani, who Saudi authorities have continued to detain since September 2017 without legal basis, completing nine years behind bars.

During his detention, Al-Yamani has faced a series of violations, including prolonged solitary confinement, denial of contact with his family, denial of access to a lawyer, and secret trial proceedings.

Al-Yamani was also previously transferred to a section of Al-Ha’ir Prison housing detainees accused of criminal offenses, including murder, theft, and drug trafficking, raising concerns about his safety and life.

SANAD Human Rights Organization calls on the Saudi authorities to immediately release Dr. Ibrahim Al-Yamani and ensure that he receives fair compensation for the years of detention and violations he has endured. SANAD also renews its call for the release of all prisoners of conscience, both men and women, in Saudi prisons.
