Manal Al-Qufairi: Arrested at 17, Facing an 18-Year Prison Sentence

Saudi authorities continue to detain Manal Al-Qufairi in Al-Ha’ir Prison in Riyadh over charges related to expressing solidarity with prisoners of conscience.

Al-Qufairi was arrested at the age of 17. In August 2023, she was sentenced to 18 years in prison followed by an 18-year travel ban over tweets, according to human rights sources.

SANAD Human Rights Organization calls on Saudi authorities to overturn the sentence against Al-Qufairi and release her immediately and unconditionally, as well as all prisoners of conscience in Saudi prisons.
