After More Than Eight Years… Continued Detention of Media Figure and Businessman Yousef Al-Mulhim

Saudi authorities continue to detain Saudi media figure and businessman Yousef Al-Mulhim for more than eight years, following a tweet he posted on platform X criticizing the official media discourse during the Saudi–Qatari crisis. Despite the end of the crisis between the two countries, Al-Mulhim has remained in detention since September 2017.

Throughout his years of imprisonment, Al-Mulhim has been subjected to serious violations, including ill-treatment by prison guards, denial of family visits, and a secret trial during which he was not even allowed to appoint a lawyer to defend himself.

SANAD Human Rights Organization calls on the Saudi authorities to release Yousef Al-Mulhim immediately and unconditionally, as well as all prisoners of conscience in the Kingdom, and to provide them with appropriate compensation.
