On the eighth anniversary of his arrest, SANAD Human Rights Organization calls for the release of Sami Al-Ghaihab
These days mark the eighth anniversary of the arrest of Mr. Sami Al-Ghaihab in September 2017, during the September crackdown that targeted a large number of activists, thinkers, influencers, and journalists in Saudi Arabia. Since his arrest, SANAD has received no updates on his condition.
Al-Ghaihab’s continued detention reflects the systematic repression that has prevailed in the country since Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman rose to power, as hundreds of detainees face similar conditions in prison amid the absence of justice and disregard for human rights standards.
SANAD Human Rights Organization reiterates its call on the Saudi authorities to immediately release Mr. Sami Al-Ghaihab and compensate him for the harm caused by years of detention and enforced disappearance.
