The suffering of Naif Al-Hendas continues in Saudi prisons
The translator and writer Naif Al-Hendas has been detained in Saudi Arabia since the arrest campaign launched by the authorities in April 2019, targeting a number of young male and female writers and activists.
In the general prison in Dammam, where he has been held since his arrest, Al-Hendas has been subjected to numerous violations, including being prohibited from communicating with his family. He has also suffered from medical neglect and was tried in a secret trial at the Specialized Criminal Court without even being allowed to appoint a lawyer.
SANAD Organisation for Human Rights expresses its deep concern over the ongoing detention of translator and writer Naif Al-Hendas in Saudi Arabia without any legal reasons or a fair trial and calls for his immediate and unconditional release.
