The ongoing detention of Dr. Hassan Farhan Al-Maliki
For more than 2290 days, Dr. Hassan Farhan Al-Maliki has been arbitrarily detained since his arrest in September 2017, without any justified legal reasons. Al-Maliki is also among those threatened with execution in Saudi Arabia.
During his detention, Al-Maliki has faced numerous violations, including intimidation of him and his family during the arrest, denial of his right to a lawyer, and solitary confinement. He was also prevented from communicating with his family for several months, and when his son Farhan Hassan Farhan Al-Maliki died, the authorities did not allow his father to attend his funeral.
In response, SANAD Organisation for Human Rights calls on the Saudi authorities to immediately and unconditionally release him and to compensate him for the damages he has suffered.
