Aya Al-Juhani marks 10 years in Saudi prisons
These days mark the tenth anniversary of the arrest of human rights activist Aya Al-Juhani in April 2016, over peacefully expressing her views.
Saudi security forces violently raided her home and arrested her in her nightclothes without regard for her rights. In prison, she was held in solitary confinement for a full year and subjected to repeated verbal abuse throughout her detention. Despite completing her sentence and an order being issued for her release, her fate has remained unknown since her retrial in August 2019.
SANAD Human Rights Organization calls on Saudi authorities to reveal her fate, release her immediately and unconditionally, and provide her with appropriate compensation.
