Ten Years Since the Arrest of Ahmed bin Omar Al-Hazmi
Saudi authorities have continued to detain Ahmed bin Omar Al-Hazmi since May 2015, leaving him behind bars for more than a decade, with his news cut off from the outside world.
Al-Hazmi was arrested in May 2015 along with several scholars and activists without any legal basis. According to human rights sources, he is serving an 18-year prison sentence solely for expressing his opinions.
Sanad Human Rights Organization calls on Saudi authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Ahmed Al-Hazmi, compensate him fairly, and end the policy of arbitrary arrests that violate the fundamental rights of citizens.
