Saudi Authorities Continue Arbitrary Detention of Sheikh Saeed bin Farwa Al-Qahtani Since 2017

The Saudi authorities have continued the arbitrary detention of Sheikh Saeed bin Farwa Al-Qahtani since September 2017, without filing any formal charges or providing a legitimate legal basis for his imprisonment.

According to informed sources, Sheikh Saeed and his family were subjected to intimidation during his arrest, as his mobile phone was confiscated and he was taken to an unknown location. His family remained unaware of his whereabouts for eight months, only later discovering that he had been transferred from Sha’ar Prison in the Asir region to Al-Ha’ir Prison in Riyadh.

SANAD Human Rights Organization condemns this severe violation of legal and human rights and calls on the Saudi authorities to immediately release Sheikh Saeed Al-Qahtani, and to grant him his full and lawful rights, foremost among them his right to freedom and to communicate with his family and legal counsel.
