On His Seventh Anniversary in Detention, Sanad Calls for the Immediate Release of Lawyer Ahmed Al-Rashed and an End to His Suffering

These days mark the seventh anniversary of the arrest of lawyer and legal consultant Ahmed Al-Rashed, who was detained by Saudi intelligence forces on April 11, 2018, due to his defense of prisoners of conscience.

Al-Rashed was subjected to arbitrary detention without a court order; he was taken to an unknown location, denied contact with his family, and has not been brought before any court to this day.

It is noteworthy that Saudi authorities have targeted many lawyers who defended prisoners of conscience. Several prominent attorneys remain detained, including Abdulaziz Al-Shubaily, Waleed Abu Al-Khair, Muteb Al-Amri, Dr. Abdullah Al-Faiz, and Abdulaziz Al-Sunaidi.

Sanad Human Rights Organization renews its call on the Saudi authorities to immediately and unconditionally release lawyer Ahmed Al-Rashed, to hold those responsible for his detention accountable, and to compensate him for the severe harm he has endured due to years of arbitrary imprisonment.
