SANAD Organization Commends Barrister Haydee Dijkstal’s Efforts in the Case of Asaad Al-Ghamdi

SANAD Human Rights Organization expresses its deepest gratitude to Lawyer Haydee Dijkstal and her legal team for their tireless efforts and fruitful collaboration in advocating for the case of detainee Asaad Al-Ghamdi, who was released on February 13, 2025.

SANAD, in coordination with Haydee and her office, worked on Asaad Al-Ghamdi’s case since mid-last year, after obtaining the necessary documents and information. Together, they advocated for his release, raised awareness of his case, and escalated it legally to the United Nations, human rights organizations, and international media outlets.

SANAD also extends its sincere appreciation to all international bodies, human rights organizations, media institutions, activists, and advocates who contributed to raising awareness and demonstrated solidarity with his case.

As we celebrate Asaad Al-Ghamdi’s freedom, SANAD reaffirms the importance of reporting on political detainees and escalating their cases legally. This remains one of the most effective means of pressuring the Saudi authorities to end human rights violations and secure the release of all arbitrarily detained individuals.
