The Third Anniversary of Dr. Ali Al-Almaei’s Arrest: SANAD Organization Calls for His Immediate Release

These days mark the third anniversary of the arrest of Dr. Ali Hassan Al-Almaei, a professor of Creed and Contemporary Doctrines at King Khalid University. He was arrested in July 2021 after attending a gathering hosted by Dr. Awad Al-Qarni.

In September 2022, the Specialized Criminal Court sentenced him to 23 years in prison without providing legal reasons. During his imprisonment, Dr. Al-Almaei has faced several violations, including enforced disappearance and being denied contact with his family.

In this context, SANAD Organisation for Human Rights calls on the Saudi authorities to immediately release Dr. Ali Hassan Al-Almaei and all prisoners of conscience, ensure respect for human rights and international laws, and demands justice and an end to all forms of violations against detainees.
