Continued Detention of Mr. Ibrahim Sabah Al-Huwaiti

Mr. Ibrahim Sabah Al-Huwaiti continues to be arbitrarily detained by the Saudi authorities since May 2023, when he was arrested for the second time on charges of refusing forced displacement from his land in Al-Huwaitat.

Mr. Al-Huwaiti, who is seventy years old, was forcibly displaced from his village, Sharma, as part of the Neom project, which led to the displacement of the Al-Huwaitat tribe. He was first arrested in 2021 but was released after three months.

The human rights organization, Sanad, expresses deep concern about the continued detention of Mr. Ibrahim Sabah Al-Amairi Al-Huwaiti by the Saudi authorities and calls for his immediate and unconditional release.
