Twelve fans of Al-Safa Club were sentenced to prison due to chants
The Specialized Criminal Court in Dammam sentenced 12 fans of Al-Safa Club to prison based on chants made during one of the club’s matches.
The sentence included imprisoning two of the fans for one year and a fine of 10,000 Saudi Riyals, while ten others were sentenced to six months in prison and a fine of 5,000 Saudi Riyals.
SANAD Organisation for Human Rights condemns this judgment, which represents a violation of freedom of expression, and calls on the Saudi authorities to annul it and immediately release the Al-Safa club fans.
