The continued detention of Dr. Mubarak bin Said Al-Zuair

In October 2017, the Saudi authorities arrested Dr. Mubarak bin Said Al-Zuair, an academic at Imam University, due to his human rights activism and his focus on issues related to detainees in particular. He remains under arbitrary detention to this day.

His arrest in 2017 was not the first; he had been arrested several times before due to his writings, reformist visions, and rights-awareness papers. He was also dismissed from the university and banned from teaching. He has faced several secret trial sessions, and no verdict against him has been made known so far.

The Sanad Human Rights Organization calls for the immediate and unconditional release of Dr. Mubarak bin Said Al-Zuair and for him to be compensated for the severe violations he has suffered.
