Abdullah Al-Atawi is an example of the repression of human rights activists in Saudi Arabia

Since September 2017, the Saudi authorities have continued to detain human rights activist Abdullah Al-Atawi, who is serving a 7-year prison sentence due to his human rights activities.

Al-Atawi, one of the founders of the Union for Human Rights Society, has been subjected to poor treatment since his detention, denied the right to appoint a lawyer, deprived of communication with his family, and suffered from deliberate medical neglect in prison.

SANAD Organisation for Human Rights calls on the Saudi authorities to release human rights activist Abdullah Al-Atawi and other human rights activists who are still under the darkness of cells.
