Sanad Organisation condemns the continued detention of Dr. Malik Al-Ahmad.
In the middle of the night on September 19, 2017, Saudi security forces stormed the home of the academic and media personality Dr. Malik Al-Ahmad, arresting him without any legal justification, and he has been arbitrarily detained to this day.
It is noted that Al-Ahmad is a media personality, academic, and associate professor at King Saud University, a member of the Saudi Association for Communication and Media, a member of the Paris Journalists’ Syndicate, a media consultant and expert, and a journalist who founded and supervised the Abuab Media Institution in both Arabic and English. He is known for advocating for meaningful media that serves the culture and values of society, and has hundreds of lectures and articles, as well as dozens of publications in the field of media, earning him the title of media architect.
SANAD organisation expresses its deep concern over the arbitrary detention of Dr. Malik Al-Ahmad without charge or trial for over six years, considering it a blatant violation of human rights. The organization demands that the Saudi authorities immediately release him unconditionally and compensate him for the severe violations he has suffered.
