Continued Detention of Journalist Osama Suhaili

The Saudi authorities have continued to detain journalist Osama Suhaili since January 2019, due to his tweets expressing his opinions. He is currently serving an eight-year prison sentence.

Since his arrest, Osama Suhaili has faced several violations by the prison administration, including difficulties in communicating with his family members and experiencing medical neglect.

In addition, the public prosecution has charged Osama Suhaili with a number of vague charges based on tweets that do not rise to the level of conviction, including supporting terrorism and seeking to destabilize state security.
