Continuation of Arbitrary Detention Against Activist Imran Al-Arkani

In October 2021, the Saudi authorities arrested humanitarian activist Imran Al-Arkani from his home in Mecca, following a smear campaign by government-affiliated accounts.

In October 2022, a year after his arrest, the Specialized Criminal Court sentenced him to 25 years in prison. However, the appellate court overturned the previous judgment and reduced the sentence to 20 years, despite the absence of any charge justifying such a term.

SANAD Organisation for Human Rights calls for the arbitrary sentence against Imran Al-Arkani to be dropped and for his immediate release without any conditions.
