The detainee Mohammed Al-Saoor was transferred to a high-security prison, and his family was prohibited from visiting him.
In a new step of its human rights violations, the Saudi authorities transferred Mr. Mohammed Al-Saoor to a high-security prison, without clarifying the reasons. Additionally, the Saudi authorities prevented Al-Saoor’s family from communicating with him or visiting him, and also forbade him from appointing a lawyer to defend him.
This action comes after the arrest of Mr. Al-Saoor last January, as part of an arrest campaign that included a number of Syrians residing in Saudi Arabia.
We strongly condemn these violations, and demand the immediate release of Mr. Al-Saoor and all prisoners of conscience without conditions or restrictions.
