Maha Al-Qahtani launches an international petition demanding the release of her husband detained in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi human rights activist Maha Al-Qahtani has launched an international petition seeking the release of her husband, Mohammed Al-Qahtani, who has been forcibly disappeared for more than a year.

Al-Qahtani stated in a tweet on Twitter: “In our attempt to support my husband, we ask those who value freedom to kindly sign this petition, which calls for his immediate and unconditional release. The time has come for him to return to us!”

Dr. Mohammed Al-Qahtani, a defender of human rights, was sentenced in 2013 to a 10-year prison term for charges related to his human rights activities. However, shortly before the end of his sentence, on October 24, 2022, the Saudi authorities forcibly disappeared him, completely severing his communication with his family.

SANAD organisation is also urging people to sign the petition and is demanding his immediate and unconditional release by the Saudi authorities.
