SANAD organisation Calls for the Release of Mr. Saleh Al-Shami

At the beginning of 2023, the Saudi authorities arrested Mr. Saleh Al-Shami, along with five others of Syrian nationality, including his son, Tahseen Al-Shami.

The arrest also included Dr. Rabie Al-Rahibani, Mohammad Al-Sa’our, Ibrahim Mahmoud, and Walid Al-Durra. No information has been available about them since their arrest in January 2023.

It is worth noting that Saleh Al-Shami is 88 years old. He suffered a severe deterioration in his health inside the prison, after which he was transferred to a hospital outside the prison, and then returned to the prison hospital after 15 days.

SANAD Organisation for Human Rights urgently calls on the Saudi authorities to immediately release Mr. Saleh Al-Shami, given his advanced age and deteriorating health condition, and the absence of reasons that warrant his continued detention.
