Khalid Al-Shahri… Over 4 Years in Prison Simply for Expressing His Opinion

More than four years have passed since Saudi authorities arrested media activist Khalid Al-Shahri in March 2020, solely because he expressed his opinion regarding an incident related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since his arrest, Khalid Al-Shahri has faced ill-treatment in prison, including being denied contact with his family and being deprived of his right to legal representation. To this day, there is no available information about any trial procedures or legal proceedings against him.

Sanad Human Rights Organization calls on the Saudi authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Khalid Al-Shahri, compensate him for the harm he has suffered, and put an end to the ongoing human rights violations that have persisted for years.
