SANAD Organisation condemns the continued detention of Dr. Anas Al-Mazrou
On March 18, 2019, the Saudi authorities arrested Dr. Anas Al-Mazrou just hours after he delivered a speech at a book fair in which he discussed the reality of human rights in Saudi Arabia and defended prisoners of conscience. He remains in arbitrary detention to this day.
In prison, Al-Mazrou has been subjected to numerous violations, including arbitrary detention, ill-treatment, and deliberate medical neglect by the Saudi authorities. He has also faced difficulty in communicating with his family, and to this day, he continues to face delays from the authorities in resolving his case legally or releasing him.
SANAD Organisation for Human Rights condemns the continued detention of Dr. Anas Al-Mazrou by the Saudi authorities and calls for his immediate and unconditional release and for him to be compensated for the arbitrary detention and serious violations he has suffered.
