Continued Forced Disappearance of Abdulrahman Al-Duwaish in Saudi Prisons
The Saudi authorities continue the forced disappearance of Abdulrahman Al-Duwaish since his arrest in October 2021, following a text message to Badr Al-Asaker, the director of the office of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, inquiring about his father who has been forcibly disappeared since 2016.
The Saudi judiciary had sentenced him to two years in prison, and despite the completion of his sentence, he remains forcibly disappeared. Human rights sources previously revealed a deterioration in his health condition and his transfer to intensive care in December 2021, after noticing a tumor in the lower abdomen along with other symptoms indicating low blood sugar and pressure.
The continued forced disappearance of Abdulrahman Al-Duwaish represents a grave violation of human rights, requiring urgent action to demand his release. We call on all human rights and humanitarian organizations to pressure the Saudi authorities to end these arbitrary practices and ensure respect for human rights for everyone.
